Quality Water Filters 4 You Posting Page
Monday, September 21, 2009
Crystal Quest has many different types of whole house water filters, what you will need all depends on what contaminants you are trying to remove from your water. Here I am going to talk about the difference between the 8 stage triple 20” whole house water filter and the 8 stage triple 20” heavy duty whole house water filters.

The 20” Crystal Quest 8 stage whole house water filters have 8 stages of filtration and 3 cartridges the cartridges are 20 inches by 2.5 inches. The first cartridge is a 5 micron sediment cartridge to remove dirt, sand and any other un-dissolved particles.

The second cartridge has 6 stages of filtration it has two one micron filter pads to remove silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other un-dissolved matter, it also has KDF 55 and KDF 85 media to remove or reduce chlorine, heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide. It also has coconut shell carbon to remove or reduce chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and other chemical contaminants. Then there is an ion-exchange resin to further remove or reduce heavy metals and water hardness.

The third cartridge is a coconut shell solid carbon cartridge for removing volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC's, insecticides, pesticides and industrial solvents)

The Crystal Quest 20” whole house water filters will provide you with 160,000 gallons of contaminant free water. It has a flow rate of 4-6 gallons per minute.

Crystal Quest 20” 8 Stage Heavy Duty Whole House Water Filter

The Crystal Quest 20” 8 Stage Heavy Duty Whole House Water Filter also has 8 stages of filtration and three cartridges but the cartridges are 20 inch by 5 inches. It has all the same media except were the 20 inch by 2.5 inch has an ion-exchange media the heavy-duty has ceramic balls instead of the ion-exchange media for removing bacteria like E. Coli, Fecal coli form, Salmonella, Streptococcus, and cysts (Cryptosporidium, Giardia) and sediment.

Also the Crystal Quest Heavy-Duty Whole House Water Filter will provide you with 300,000 gallons of contaminant free water and has a flow rate of 7 to 9 gallons per minute.

So the differences are as follows:

Heavy-duty whole house

1. Cartridges are 20” by 5”
2. Have ceramic balls instead of ion-exchange resin
3. Filtering capacity is 300,000 gallons
4. Flow rate is 7 to 9 gallons per minute

20” by 2.5” Whole House Water Filters

1. Cartridges are 20” by 2.5”
2. Has ion-exchange resin instead of ceramic balls
3. Filtering capacity is 160,000 gallonsFlow rate is 4 to 6 gallons per minute
